Songs I Love, The Second

Never before did I listen to Opera for more than 5 seconds. Then I came upon a video on Youtube of a show called Britain's Got Talent. A totally paavam, low on self confidence, insecure guy who was always bullied around walks in for the audition, called Paul Potts, a Mobile phone salesman. The judges ask him what he's come to perform, he says "To Sing Opera" and I too was like "What the fuck??". He stands still for a while to gain some confidence. The mesmerizing music of Nessun Dorma begins & we are like "Ok here comes...". And then..

He begins singing & you are like "WHAT !!! Is That really the voice of a Mobile Phone Salesman?!" .. Amazing is the word. I'm not even a fan of Opera. I actually hated it till this guy came around. But the way this guy sang with all his heart & feeling in his voice just left me awestruck. I actually played that video over & over again & very few songs move me to tears. This definitely did, every single time I saw it. He eventually went on to win the competition, sing in front of the Queen of England, sign a record contract with Sony BMG, a successful worldwide tour, 3 million albums sold & more. His is a True Underdog Story.

You are the one always drowning in the beauty of the moment and seeing how we all are programmed to be a certain way/act/exist in society. The existential you is the guy sitting by himself in the studio, when being in his boring natural existence. We all put on our own masks, some complex and layered. The closer you are to a person, the lesser the masks+layers. Hence, you know very clearly how close you are to each friend in your life. One never truly knows oneself. People always say the previous statement, not realizing that to truly find oneself is the point of spiritual guidance. It is truly finding oneself that is Liberation aka Moksha. Hence, meditation and all spiritual practices te...
